Lauren Almquist is an herbalist and garden coach who believes there is no such thing as a green thumb. She helps people that love plants grow their own herbs for food, medicine, and joy. Through Heartspace Herbals & Garden Design, Lauren offers customized healing herbal garden creation support and coaching, and education that supports the ecosystem.

Benoit Azagoh-Kouadio of Round the Bend Farm
Intro to Psilocybin Mushrooms as Medicine, 11am
This class will be a primer on the use of psilocybin containing mushrooms as healing agents. We’ll examine contemporary uses, indications and contraindications, amidst ongoing clinical evidence being uncovered by modern scientific research, as well as some critical reflections for those who are considering inviting these profound but nuanced medicines into their healing journey.
Benoit Azagoh-Kouadio practices holistic farm management at Round the Bend Farm, a non-profit sustainable living education center in South Dartmouth, MA. His work focuses on cultivating a diverse range of crops in agroforestry systems. He has been extensively involved in supporting public awareness, community organizing, and clinical research of psychedelic medicines for 17 years and is a passionate advocate for their role in society.

Join us to learn how to leverage straightforward fermentation techniques to fully utilize herbs, fruits and vegetables. The class will empower you to make delicious flavor combinations from stems, peels and scraps that would otherwise be composted or tossed.
Rich Shih, co-author of Koji Alchemy, is one of the key culinary explorers of mold-based fermentation in the United States. As a food preservation consultant, he helps chefs, cooks and artisans build their larders and leverage fermentation to decrease waste. He welcomes makers of all experience levels to learn, share knowledge, and exchange ideas through his educational workshops and social media.

The season of Yule is a time to turn inward and focus on restorative practices. Join Rachel for an introduction to celebrating Yuletide season, with plant medicine to support us in the darkest part of the year, and participate in a seasonal crafting project to invite the light to return.
Rachel studies folk practices and rituals related to her heritage, focusing primarily on the British Isles and Slavic traditions. She offers witch-crafting workshops, hosts a Wheel of the Year supper club, magical book groups and herbalism classes. In her free time, you can find her foraging, researching plants and remedies, visiting historic sites, and whipping up kitchen magic.

In this plant care 101 class we’ll explore the essentials of keeping indoor houseplants healthy all year around with a special emphasis on the colder months. Learn practical tips on light, watering, humidity, and troubleshooting common winter issues. Perfect for plant parents of all levels!
Lois a.k.a. Lola is an educator of over 10 years, teaching topics from creative writing to Urban Gardening 101. She is a 200hr certified yoga instructor, doula, and houseplant & garden consultant. Nothing brings her more joy than sharing her love and knowledge of plants with others.

Alex Klein of Puddingstone School
Urban Tree Walk, 3pm outside
Come learn about what's going on with the trees as they transition from growth to dormancy. We'll discuss some tree biology, urban ecology, identification skills, and edible, medicinal and other practical uses of our woody friends.
Alex runs a humble clinical practice, where he works with individuals on a range of health issues to find ease and feel better using herbs he has gathered or grown himself. He teaches classes throughout the area on herbalism, botany, wild food, trees and local ecology and runs an herbalism program called the Puddingstone School.
