ATTENDANCE
The entire Wintergreen event is free to attend and open to the public; no advance registration is required. Our herbal marketplace is located in the main hall, with two tracks of classes happening on the second floor. Drop into a class at any point in the day! While the classes are offered for free, donations to the teachers are greatly appreciated and help to support their ongoing work. Check out the class schedule page for their donation info.
TRAVEL + PARKING:
The Armory is located at 191 Highland Ave in Somerville, MA. The building is located in a busy residential neighborhood; visitors are encouraged to carpool, take public transportation, bike, or walk. There are bicycle racks behind and in front of the building. Please do not lock bikes on the front railing.
Arts at the Armory is approximately a 15 minute walk from Davis Square on the MBTA Red Line. The MBTA buses, Route 88 and Route 90, can be taken from Lechmere (Green Line) or Davis Square (Red Line) to reduce walking distance to Arts at the Armory. Visitors can exit the bus at the Highland Ave @ Lowell Street stop.
Visitors can also reach Arts at the Armory from Sullivan Square (Orange Line) with the MBTA Route 90 bus. Visitors can exit the bus at the Highland Ave @ Benton Road stop.
The new Magoun Square stop on the Green Line is a quick 10 minute walk to/from Arts at the Armory.
There is a parking lot directly behind the building; when this is at capacity overflow parking is located a short walk away at 75 Belmont St.
ACCESSIBILITY:
Arts at the Armory is in ADA compliance as there are no steps from the front of the building into the performance hall. The venue has an elevator accessible to the mezzanine, main entry, and basement. The elevator doors are 84 in. by 42 in. All signs in the main entrance of the venue, as well as the bathrooms, accommodate using braille. There are handicap parking spots adjacent to the building.
As always, we will have volunteers on hand to help anyone who needs additional assistance. Please inquire at the front desk as you enter, and we will be happy to assist.
FOOD + BEVERAGE OPTIONS:
Several market vendors will have hot tea and snacks for sale, and The Armory's Rooted Cafe will have small meals and beverages available.
COVID PRECAUTIONS:
~ We will be following the City of Somerville’s recommendations. Masks are welcome, but not required.
~ We’ll have free masks available at the front desk if you need one. Just stop by to ask our helpful volunteers for one.
~ We’ll also have hand sanitizer in a few different locations around the venue.
~ This is an indoor event: the marketplace is held in a large open hall on two levels, with classes on the mezzanine.
~ There is an up-to-date HVAC system that runs throughout the whole venue.
~ If you need to take breaks from being inside, there is a small outdoor area in the front of the building, and there will also be a neighborhood plant walk taking place in the afternoon.
~ If you wake up in the morning and experience any symptoms of illness we kindly request that you stay home and prioritize the health and well-being of yourself and others.
