Do I need a ticket to attend Herbstalk classes?
Yes, a ticket is required if you want to attend classes. There are options for attending one day or for the whole weekend. You can find tickets here. We recommend purchasing in advance; a limited number of tickets will be available at the door. Drop into any class you like the day of -- there is no need to register in advance for specific classes.
Do I need a ticket to enter the Herbstalk marketplace?
No! The market is free and open to the public. Come on by and check out our fabulous makers and artisans!
Where is Herbstalk located?
Herbstalk takes place at The Center for the Arts at the Armory, located at 191 Highland Ave. in Somerville, MA. The Armory is approximately a 15-minute walk from Davis Square which is on the MTBA Red Line.You can also arrive by using an MBTA bus that can be caught either at Lechmere (#88 bus) or Davis Square (#90 or #88 bus). Get off at the Highland Avenue and Lowell Street stop. Or you can arrive from Sullivan Square (#90 bus). Get off at the Highland Avenue and Benton Road stop.
Where do I park?
Parking at the Armory is limited, so we strongly encourage you to carpool or take public transportation. There is a 44 spot lot directly behind the building as well as an overflow lot within walking distance. Additional parking is located at 75 Belmont St. If possible, please take public transportation, bike or carpool. The Davis Square T is only a leisurely 15-minute walk from the Armory. Hubway bikes are available at Davis Sq.
Is there food for sale at Herbstalk?
Yes, we will have a few vendors selling simple meals and The Armory cafe will also be serving some snacks from the bar area in the main hall. The event also takes place in an area with restaurants and cafes in walking distance of The Armory.
Is the Herbstalk venue ADA compliant?
Yes, Arts at the Armory is in ADA compliance as there are no steps from the front of the building into the performance hall. The venue does have an elevator accessible to the mezzanine, main entry, and basement/green room. The elevator doors are 84 in. by 42 in. All signs in the main entrance of the venue, as well as the bathrooms, accommodate using braille.
