The mineral content in plants can bring profound healing during times of illness and rehabilitation but also during pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause and menopause. In this workshop Constanza will share with us the importance of absorption of minerals through herbs, how to prepare nourishing infusions, poultices designed to speed up the healing of our tissues and bones, as well as a special recipe for the health of baby and mama during pregnancy.

Constanza is the founder of Jardín Secreto, a magical place nestled in the Andean mountains.  Born and raised in Chile, she also lived in New England for many years. She now resides in the mountains of Antioquia, Colombia with her husband and 3 month old daughter. Constanza’s intention is to honor the Land where she grows food as medicine, to share medicines, experiences and inclusive~diverse spaces that honor the importance of regenerative relationships with nature, as well as an endless reverence for Mother Earth.

The Brown Alliance: Bioregional Herbalism and Re-Indigenization

with Asia Dorsey of Bones, Bugs and Botany
Denver, Colorado

I write from the Cheyenne, Ute and Arapahoe terroitors named Colorado by Spanish Conquistadors. My dark brown female body basks in the first bits of red sunrise. I toy with the name “color” “red” as I sip my Atole sweetened with local honey and softened with raw milk from my favorite dairy. My ancestors love when I play with my food. I am a daughter of this empire. And I belong here. This introductory conversation reframes the story of who we are, where we’ve come from and where we’re going guided by the wisdom of the earth.

Asia Dorsey embraces the earth. She uses her gift of pattern recognition as a bioregional herbalist with the Ancestral Herbalism Healing Collective, a permaculture instructor with the Denver Permaculture Guild, and a developer of vibrant organizations that perpetuate cultures of reciprocity as an organizational consultant with Regenerate Change. Asia, ever the afrofuturist, creates literary beauty and centers Black joy, wellness and imagination as a Black arts curator and cofounder of the Palm Wine Collective. Asia also manages educational programs at the Seeds of Power Unity Farm swimming bone-deep in soil, bending botanical chaos long enough for her people to rise together in power and step into the wholeness that is their birthright. Join in and support her creations on Patreon and Instagram .
